Grants
To make the most effective use of Apache’s resources and expertise, Apache has selected priority issues and key initiatives for investment. Our main focus is education. We also provide grants in the following areas: civic, arts and culture, conservation and the environment, and social welfare.
General Guidelines
- Organizations requesting corporate dollars from Apache must be certified as a “public charity” under the terms set by the United States Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3) or as set by similar provisions of tax laws in the country in which the charity is located.
- We do not fund annual tithes.
- We do not fund building campaigns.
- We do not fund individuals.
- We do not fund religious activities, in whole or in part, for the purpose of furthering religious doctrine.
How to Apply for a Corporate Grant
Please send in a written request and include the following information. (Please do not use binders.)
- Name of the organization
- Contact person and title
- Address, city, state and zip code
- Phone number
- E-mail address
- Proposal summary (a one- to two-page description of the entire proposal)
- Mission of the organization
- History of the organization
- Purpose of the request
- Amount requested (or include levels of sponsorship opportunities)
- Project description
- Audience served
- Goals, objectives and action plan
- Expected quantifiable outcomes or results
- Method of evaluation of proposed outcomes
- Other sources of support for the project
- If appropriate, the plan for continuing the activity beyond Apache’s support
Attachments must include:
- Financial information (most recent organizational financial statement and income-and-expense budget; list of other current and projected sources of funding for the project).
- Most recent completed form 990 submitted to the IRS, which includes the federal taxpayer identification number and the legal name of the organization.
- List of Board of Directors and their affiliations.
- W-9 Form (Please type or print clearly).
Grant Timeline
Apache accepts requests between January 1 and December 1. Those requests are reviewed and considered for funding.
Apache attempts to review all proposals within 45 days after receipt, at which time Apache either immediately declines the proposal, or sends notification the proposal will be further evaluated.
